<b>Description</b><br>
A densely worked architectural labyrinth in colored pencil that belongs to the tradition of ISHISHI's Escher-influenced works. Staircases, doorways, arches, corridors and geometric rooms interlock in impossible spatial arrangements. Embedded throughout the architecture are at least four or five human eyes - watching from recessed alcoves and structural corners - and crescent moons visible in several openings. The recurring eye motif gives this composition a particularly watchful, surrealist quality.<br><br>
The palette is more saturated than some of the other works in the collection: blues, pinks/reds, browns, greens and greys all actively engage. No date notation visible on verso. In good condition with vibrant, unfaded colors. Signed "ISHISHI" in reddish-brown at lower right.<br><br>
