Overview

A Large-Format Composition Depicting A Snow Skiing Scene Viewed Through A Pair Of Oversized Round Sunglasses Held By Two Stylised Pink Hands. The Left Lens Frames A Group Of Cross-Country Skiers Against A Backdrop Of Snow-Covered Mountain Peaks Rendered In Soft Mauves And Greys. The Right Lens Shows Downhill Skiers In Action Across A Similar Alpine Landscape Under A Pale Blue Sky. The Figures Are Rendered In Bright, Graphic Colours - Yellows, Reds, Oranges And Blues - Against The Muted Pastel Tones Of The Snow And Mountains. The Overall Palette Is Restrained And Cool, With Soft Greys, Pinks And Blues Dominating The Background.

The Verso Is Inscribed With The Title "Uphill - Downhill", Dated "Sept. '84" And Signed "Jorgen Bechmann" In Marker On The Lower Stretcher Bar.

Condition

Good. The Canvas Is Taut On The Stretcher Bars And The Painted Surface Is Largely Clean. Minor Marks And Small Spots Of Discolouration Are Present In The Lower Left Area Of The Canvas. The Aluminium Frame Shows Light Scuffing And General Age-Related Wear. Refer To Images.
