1973 Chrysler Valiant VJ Rustler Utility - Audi Grey - 69,411km - 225ci Slant Six, 3-Speed Automatic - Canning Vale WA
One of the rarest Chrysler Valiants to survive in Australia, this VJ Rustler utility is a USA import with a compelling story and a tidy grey exterior.
Overview
The Chrysler Valiant VJ Rustler is one of the most sought-after Australian utilities from the early 1970s. Built on the VJ Valiant platform in 1973, the Rustler combined Chrysler's rugged single-cab ute body with the legendary 225 cubic inch (3.7-litre) Slant Six engine, a powerplant renowned for its durability and longevity. Surviving examples in any condition are genuinely rare, and those that present as structural project vehicles are becoming increasingly hard to find.
This example is a USA import, vendor advises, and arrives showing 69,411 kilometres on a km-calibrated odometer. The exterior is finished in Audi Grey, a clean neutral tone that suits the Rustler's working-truck character. The body presents with straight panels and no obvious rust visible on the exterior surfaces, with the original Rustler script badge present on the cab doors. Aftermarket LED headlights have been fitted, and the interior carries black vinyl bench seat trim in honest used condition.
The 225ci Slant Six automatic drivetrain is present. Vendor advises new brakes are required, and a new battery is needed before the vehicle returns to service. A new power steering pump (boxed) and an Alpine MRP-M450 amplifier are included with the vehicle. The tray floor is treated with black spray-on liner and presents in good order.
Important: Vendor advises the chassis number was not sighted. This vehicle is offered as a project or parts vehicle and is not registerable without a chassis number allocation. Buyers should satisfy themselves as to the administrative requirements associated with the chassis number situation prior to bidding.
