2003 Mack Quantum SX4 Chassis Cab. 8x4 configuration. Mack EA7-435 diesel. Manual transmission. 603,178 km. GVM 31,400 kg. GCM 90,000 kg. Integrated UDR1000 hydraulic drilling rig.
Description
This is a complete truck-mounted drill rig package: a 2003 Mack Quantum 8x4 heavy-duty chassis cab with a Universal Drill Rigs UDR1000 hydraulic drilling rig permanently integrated on the rear. The Mack Quantum was built at Richlands, QLD in September 2003 and is powered by the Mack EA7-435 engine through a manual transmission. At 31,400kg GVM and 90,000kg GCM, the 8x4 platform provides the weight and stability needed for the drilling rig's deployment. Two QLD modification plates (Dec 2003) confirm the rig integration was completed by Haulmark Trailers (Aust) shortly after the truck's manufacture.
The UDR1000 (Universal Drill Rigs MkVI 1000) is a hydraulic multipurpose drill rig designed for exploration, water bore, geotechnical, and mining support drilling. It features a heavy-duty lattice boom mast with hydraulic raise/lower, rotary drill head with splined output, winch with wire rope, onboard auxiliary diesel engine driving the hydraulic power unit, and a full operator's control station with pressure gauges for main pump, mud pump, and air. The mast folds to horizontal for transport. Previous client was Drillcorp, and a complete engineering documentation package is included: Universal MkVI 1000 parts book, hoses and spare parts manual, control cabinet schematics, and operational instruction notes.
The truck shows 603,178 km on the odometer. The cab interior is heavily soiled and dirty throughout with worn seats and accumulated debris. The overhead console has cut wiring from removed equipment. Front steer tyres on both sides are nearly bald and will need immediate replacement before the truck can be driven. The passenger-side headlight has severe internal moisture damage and heat burns, requiring replacement. Rear tandem tyres show moderate tread remaining. The drill rig's yellow paintwork shows widespread surface corrosion, paint peeling, and weathering throughout. The mast feed rail is heavily corroded with bare steel exposed. Hydraulic hoses throughout the rig appear intact but aged. The auxiliary engine, hydraulic pumps, and control systems appear complete but operational condition cannot be confirmed from photos.
