Shelby GT350R & Mustang Fastback Model History

The 1965 Mustang Fastback became the foundation for Carroll Shelby’s legendary GT350 and GT350R race cars, which dominated SCCA competition in the mid-1960s. Purpose-built, lightweight and brutally fast, original GT350R models are now among the most valuable American race cars ever produced, regularly commanding seven-figure prices. This tribute has been constructed with deep respect for the originals, incorporating correct visual cues such as GT1 side scoops ducted to the rear brakes, period wheels and race-focused chassis engineering — while remaining versatile enough for track days, drag racing or display.

Originally built by a US aircraft engineer in the late 1970s and restored by the same owner in 2005, this Mustang has been engineered with a no-compromise approach throughout.
