Description / Overview:
Australian-assembled Mini Mokes are genuinely rare survivors. BMC Australia built these at the Zetland plant in Sydney from 1966, and most have long since succumbed to rust or been stripped for parts. Serial 3087 is a genuine early example, confirmed by the factory BMC Australia identification plate which remains riveted in the engine bay. The car was originally delivered in Empire Green and has been resprayed in a custom sky blue during the current restoration, with hand-painted decorative scrollwork added throughout the body panels and dashboard as a personal styling choice.
The restoration covers all the key bases: new body panels, a full repaint, interior retrim with white vinyl and new canopy, and an upgrade to disc brakes. The engine is a 998cc A-series (an upgrade from the original 848cc specification), which is noted on the factory plate and makes the car a livelier driver. Alloy wheels replace the original steel items. The overall presentation is clean, the body is straight, and the canopy is new. This is a driver-quality restoration with strong show character, not a factory-correct concours rebuild.
