Description / Overview:
The Jaguar 420G was the flagship saloon of its era, a big, beautiful, proper British luxury car that shared its 4.2-litre XK engine with the E-Type. Built from 1966 to 1970, it was the last of the large Jaguar saloons before the XJ6 took over, and that makes it genuinely rare. Only a handful came to Australia new, and finding one in this condition is not easy.
This example presents very well. The Sable Grey paint has real depth and gloss, the chrome is clean and bright, and the panel gaps are straight throughout. The tan leather interior is honest, with wear consistent with use but no splits or tears, and the headliner is intact, which is not something you take for granted on a 55-year-old car of this type. The burr walnut dashboard trim is in good shape. The engine bay is a working driver, properly maintained, with the correct triple SU HD8 carburettors and the engine running on its original configuration.
