Condition: Fair to Good. Paint surface shows moderate cracking in the central gold/ochre sections, consistent with age and the use of impasto or heavy-body medium. Minor scuffs and edge wear on the canvas edges. No tears or punctures visible.


A decorative diptych by Joanne Burnard, with a bold botanical and geometric design drawing on Polynesian tapa cloth motifs and Pacific Island decorative traditions. The two tall vertical panels work together as a set, with composition arranged in horizontal bands: deep maroon leaf forms at top and base, a central gold field carrying large four-petal pinwheel flower motifs, and geometric border bands separating each register. Gold metallic highlights add texture and warmth throughout. The palette of burnt maroon, ochre, and dark earthy tones would suit a contemporary interior with natural or warm-toned furnishings.
