Price Guide: $175,000 - $225,000

1967 Ford Mustang Fastback, Eleanor tribute build, DuPont Pepper Grey, 351ci V8, automatic transmission, rear-wheel drive, right-hand drive conversion, 9,438km.

Description

The 1967 Ford Mustang fastback is widely regarded as the most iconic shape the Mustang nameplate ever wore. The second-generation fastback, with its sweeping roofline and long bonnet, defined what American muscle looked like at the peak of the pony car era. This particular example goes further, built as a full Eleanor tribute in the tradition of the car made famous by the 2000 film "Gone in 60 Seconds." It won Best of Show at the 2025 All Ford Family Day, judged by the Mustang Owners Club of Australia (NSW), which tells you exactly where this build sits in the pecking order of local Mustang restomods.

The DuPont Pepper Grey paint is flawless, showing mirror-level gloss across all panels with the Eleanor-signature widened rear quarter flares executed cleanly and professionally. Side exit exhaust cutouts are built into the rocker panels, the Torq-Thrust style multi-spoke alloys are polished and in excellent condition, and the overall stance is low and purposeful. The black side rocker stripes and subtle rear ducktail spoiler complete the look. Inside, the black interior is built to match. A Shelby GT500 tribute wood-rim steering wheel with cobra horn boss, a full gauge cluster with auxiliary instruments, a B&M automatic shifter with T-handle, and a custom centre console with GT500 badging all come together in a consistent, well-executed cabin. The modern aftermarket digital-analog instrument cluster reads 9,438km, consistent across both speedometer and tachometer displays. The rear bench is clean black vinyl with lap belts, showing minimal wear throughout.

The engine bay is the work of someone who clearly cares. An Edelbrock intake manifold and carburettor sit atop the 351ci V8, an MSD ignition box is mounted on the firewall, red spark plug wires run in clean looms, a polished aluminium strut tower brace spans the engine bay, and a custom aluminium radiator keeps temperatures in check. The bay is finished in bare satin silver to match the Eleanor theme and is immaculate throughout. This car has been shown, photographed, and recognised at the highest level in Australian Mustang circles. With RHD conversion for Australian registration and just 9,438km on the clock since restoration, it is a genuinely usable and displayable example of what the Eleanor tribute concept looks like when executed properly.
