A quieter, more contemplative work than many in this series, this piece presents a compact organic/mechanical hybrid structure floating centrally on the sheet with generous white margins. Sinuous tubes, crescent-moon shapes, circular porthole-like openings, sprouting arrow and leaf forms, and water droplets combine with a small seated human figure on the left and a pedestal fountain element at the base. The composition is executed on a noticeably textured/laid paper that gives both the pencil strokes and the signature a stippled, tactile quality. The nearly monochromatic grey and sepia palette, with subtle blue accents, creates a mood of introspective stillness quite different from the more exuberant works in the series.<br>
