To the left, a generous cluster of pink and peach roses or peonies blooms behind the animal. The architectural cityscape behind them is particularly elaborate, with domed buildings, arched windows, spiral ramps, and geometric forms, and a crescent moon rises in the upper left sky. The palette is notably richer and more saturated than many works in the series, with deep teals, blues, purples, magentas, golds, and warm earths working together in a dense, jewel-like harmony.

The most significant feature of this work is the handwritten dedication on the verso, in which the artist identifies himself as "Ishi" and dedicates the work to his wife with deep personal sentiment. This direct statement of the artist's identity, combined with the work's evident emotional significance, gives this lot an unusual and meaningful provenance history. As a gift from the artist's own hand to someone he loved, this work carries an intimate human story alongside its considerable artistic merit.

Signed lower right "ISHISHI". Personal dedication inscribed in pencil on verso. Estimated value range: $200 to $700.

Specifications
Artist: ISHISHI (also "Ishi" per verso dedication)
Attribution: Signed original with artist's personal dedication
Title: Untitled
Medium: Coloured pencil on paper
Dimensions (unframed): Approx. 50 x 70 cm (unverified)
Frame: Unframed
Signature: Lower right (recto), and "Ishi" (verso dedication)
Inscription: Personal dedication on verso
COA: Not present
Condition: Very good 582452+64
