The trees lean over the water, their trunks and branches reflected in the calm surface, and dappled light filters through the canopy creating warm golden and cool blue-green passages in both the foliage and reflections. Sandy banks frame the waterway on either side. The technique is confident and accomplished, using soft wet-on-wet washes to achieve the atmospheric, light-filled quality that characterises the work's modest title perfectly.<br>
