These inscriptions indicate the work was gifted on two occasions in 2005, suggesting the artist may be known personally to the original recipient.<br>

The handling of the luminous sky and calm reflective water is accomplished, with the tonal contrast between the warm golden light and the cooler blue-grey atmosphere creating a genuinely evocative coastal mood.<br>
