A confident architectural pencil drawing of inner-city Redfern in Sydney, dated 1971. The drawing captures the rooftops and streetscape of Victorian-era terrace houses from a slightly elevated viewpoint, with characteristic chimneys, corrugated rooflines, power lines strung between poles, windows and doorways, and the sloping lanes of one of Sydney's oldest residential suburbs. The linework ranges from bold structural outlines to lighter shading strokes, showing accomplished draughtsmanship. Redfern in 1971 was still largely working-class residential, and this drawing documents a streetscape that has since changed considerably. Signed with initials "CMK" and date "71" - full artist identity not confirmed from available photos.<br>
