<b>Description</b><br>
A more atmospheric and open composition than many of the ISHISHI works, anchored by a white winding road that snakes through a Byzantine and medieval townscape. Domed towers, arched bridges, tiled rooftops and Gothic arched windows form the architectural backdrop. Stylised rain droplets fall from the upper right, stylised clouds gather at the upper left, a bare dead tree stands sentinel at one corner, and a flaming brazier burns at street level. The overall mood is evocative and slightly melancholic.<br><br>
The white winding road as a compositional device gives this work more breathing room than the pure horror vacui pieces in the collection, creating a satisfying balance between detail and openness. In very good condition with bright clean paper. Signed "ISHISHI" at lower right. Verso: "© 2026".<br><br>
