The most purely surrealist and figurative work in the ISHISHI collection: a densely populated fantasy world that trades the purely architectural vocabulary for a more playful and dreamlike visual inventory. A polka-dotted mushroom house occupies the upper left, multiple disembodied eyes are scattered throughout the composition, bird-like and creature-like figures animate the spaces, spiraling snail-shell forms dominate the lower half, and semi-human/semi-animal hybrid characters inhabit this otherworldly scene.<br><br>
The palette is soft pastel: pinks, blues, greens, mauves, ochres and greys. The medium is colored pencil with possible ink linework additions for fine detail. Below the signature there is a small drawn symbol or glyph - a stylised bird or abstract mark - that appears to be a secondary artist's mark or personal device. Verso: "© 2022".
