<b>Description</b><br>
A standout work in the ISHISHI collection for its emphasis on geometry and optical illusion. The composition is anchored by a large S-shaped winding road that curves through the centre, with a sunflower or radiating sun motif at the crest and mushroom-shaped structures along the verges. The right side and base are filled with an extensive isometric cube pattern - the kind of three-dimensional tessellation made famous by M.C. Escher - rendered with impressive spatial conviction. Flat-topped African acacia trees with detailed stippled foliage occupy the upper right. A large arched gateway with wavy striped patterning and a waterfall or liquid cascade dripping into a decorative urn anchor the left side. Stone and brick textures and triangular/zigzag decorative border patterns complete the picture.<br><br>
The ink bleed-through on the verso is more pronounced than in other lots, indicating heavy pen pressure was used - this work has energy. In good condition overall. Signed "ISHISHI" at lower right. Verso: "© 2026".<br><br>
