The characterful cross-hatching and sparse economical line - the hallmarks of Cezanne's exploratory graphic work - are present throughout. Cezanne is known to have made very few etchings, and his early graphic works are a small documented body. The COA from Independent Art Auctioneers (NSW) attributes this work to Cezanne and states it was "produced from the original etching plate." A mark reading "P. Cez..." is partially visible in the plate. Buyers should conduct independent research, including consulting the Cezanne catalogue raisonné, regarding the impression's history and authenticity.

Artist attributed: Paul Cezanne (1839-1906)
Title: Head of a Girl
Medium: Etching on paper
Date: c. 1873
COA: Yes - Independent Art Auctioneers, Waterloo NSW, authenticated by Justin Turner (AVAA No. 103), dated 04/11/2009
Frame: Ornate carved gilt, cream mat with green fillet, glazed.221830+7
