The plate depicts the iconic Great Western Railway steam engine leaving Dainton Tunnel in Devon, rendered in detailed colour illustration with gold rim. Number 1159 from a limited edition of 2,500, produced in 1982. The locomotive, built at Swindon in 1927 and designed by C.B. Collett, is shown hauling a Plymouth-Paddington Express in the late 1950s, complete with buffer beam mounted bell and cabside medals. Withdrawn from service in 1962 and preserved. Includes original certificate of authenticity signed by Kneale H. Ashwell, Chairman and Chief Executive. Accompanied by decorative presentation box.
