Description:

Curated Natural History Collection - Fossils, Minerals and Specimens

Collection Overview

A comprehensive assemblage of natural history specimens spanning palaeontological and mineralogical categories. This lot comprises authenticated fossil material, mineral specimens, and preserved zoological items presented in professional display cases and storage formats.

Lot Contents

Fossil Material: Four (4) fossilised theropod dinosaur teeth, exhibiting characteristic serrated edges and root preservation. Specimens display natural patination consistent with Cretaceous-period material. Teeth range approximately 40-65mm in length with visible striations and wear patterns indicative of predatory use.

Displayed Specimens:

• Three (3) translucent rose quartz figurines mounted in diamond-shaped acrylic display frames with white pedestal bases. Figurines exhibit hand-carved anthropomorphic forms, approximately 50-70mm height.

• One (1) black obsidian carved figurine in matching display frame, demonstrating contrasting material and craftsmanship.

• One (1) raw mineral specimen (appears to be lepidolite or similar lithium-rich mineral) mounted on metal stand with rectangular base.

Storage and Reference Material:

• One (1) vintage 'Fossils of the World' mini collection reference box containing six (6) compartments with labelled mineral and fossil samples, including what appears to be ammonite, belemnite, and various mineral specimens.

• Two (2) additional display boxes containing preserved shell specimens and fossilised material in protective acrylic cases.

Condition Notes

All specimens appear to be in stable condition. Fossil teeth show natural surface weathering consistent with age and excavation. Display cases are intact with no visible cracks or damage. Acrylic frames are clear and undamaged. Mineral specimens show no signs of deterioration. Reference box shows age-appropriate wear to cardboard exterior but contents remain secure.

Provenance and Authentication

This collection appears to represent educational and collector-grade natural history material. The vintage reference box suggests mid-20th century assembly. Individual specimens lack formal certification documentation visible in photographs. Buyers are advised to conduct independent authentication and valuation if required for insurance or collection purposes.

Display and Storage

All items are presented in their original display and storage formats. The collection is suitable for educational display, collector shelving, or museum-quality presentation. Acrylic cases provide UV protection and dust prevention for long-term preservation.

Suitability

This lot appeals to natural history enthusiasts, fossil collectors, geology students, and museum curators. The mixed nature of the collection—combining authenticated fossils with mineral specimens and carved items—makes it suitable for both serious collectors and those establishing a natural history collection.

Sold as described. Buyer to inspect prior to bidding. All items included as photographed. No returns accepted on natural history material.
