About This Charger
Built by Chrysler Australia's Adelaide plant in November 1975, this VK Coupe carries the paint code WB (Hemi Orange) and Trim R1 on its build plate, with option codes including R82 (the RT specification package) and A60 (factory air conditioning). It has been built as an RT Tribute, presenting in the classic Hemi Orange and black combination that defined the Charger's muscular image during Australia's golden age of local manufacturing.
The 265ci Hemi inline-six has been fitted with a professional individual throttle body (ITB) injection system, with separate throttle stacks for each cylinder, delivering improved throttle response and a dramatic underbonnet presentation. The conversion retains the character of the legendary Hemi Six while shedding the carburettor's sensitivity to fuel quality and temperature variation. A TorqueFlite automatic transmission handles gear changes, with rear-wheel drive and a floor-mounted shifter in the cabin.
The interior has been completely renewed with fresh black vinyl upholstery throughout, including two-tone black and silver bucket seats up front and a newly trimmed rear bench. The dashboard retains its original 4-gauge instrument cluster and the cabin has been refitted with new carpet throughout. Note: the driver's door card is included with the vehicle but is currently not fitted. The passenger door card is in place. Factory air conditioning components are included, with the AC unit stored in the boot pending reinstallation.
Externally, the car presents in its Hemi Orange paint with a matte black bonnet and black side graphics featuring the number 4 and R/T badging. The fastback roofline, rear louvred quarter windows and Charger R/T rear badge complete the RT Tribute look. Aftermarket multi-spoke alloy wheels, chrome fuel filler and chrome window surrounds add period-appropriate detail.
